The Education Advising Offices at the U.S. Consulate General in Dubai and the U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi are certified EducationUSA advising centers affiliated with the United States Department of State.EducationUSA is a global network of more than 450 advising centers supported by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State. The EducationUSA Advising centers in the UAE are located at the U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the U.S. Consulate General in Dubai. The centers are certified by EducationUSA and help ensure students across the Emirates get the information they need about studying at American colleges and universities. The centers actively promote U.S. higher education around the world by offering free of charge accurate, unbiased, comprehensive, objective and timely information about educational institutions in the United States and give guidance to qualified individuals on how best to access those opportunities.

Advising Services

The EducationUSA Advising Centers in the UAE provide students who are interested in studying in the United Sates of America, with the following services in both English and Arabic:

  • One-on-one advising
  • Access to the advising library at the advising center
  • Internet access for students.
  • Guidance on selection of universities, testing, available scholarships, application process etc…
  • Information on summer camps and leadership programs.
  • Pre-departure orientation workshops.

Individual Advising and Planning

At RIT Dubai, you will have the advantage of being a part of a large, internationally recognized, comprehensive US university – while benefiting from a personalized educational academic environment in Dubai. You'll study with diverse, talented faculty from the RIT campus in the US, as well as faculty from the Gulf region who understand the traditions, and educational and economic needs of the local region.

You will be assigned an academic advisor who will work with you to design an individualized plan of study for your first year, based on your interests and career goals, and your academic background and strengths. Your advisor, as well as RIT faculty and staff, will work with you throughout your degree program to help you be sure your academic program is aligned with your career goals. They will provide assistance and support with academic issues, research opportunities and options, and career counseling and advice.

Resources & Support

Through RIT Dubai, you'll have a comprehensive array of resources and support services to simplify and help you make the most of your learning experience. You'll study in state-of-the-art facilities at the Dubai Silicon Oasis, including modern classrooms, laboratories, and study areas. You'll have access to modern learning technologies and support, including RIT's course management system, myCourses, which allows students to interact with their classmates and access course materials online 24/7 through a standard web browser.

You'll participate in a new student orientation program prior to beginning classes, to help you get acclimated and ready for your academic program. In addition, you will take a first-year experience course that includes information about academic support and resources available to you as an RIT Dubai student, as well as a career seminar designed to help you learn more about your academic area of interest and career options.
